Ranier Barbi started carving pipes for himself in 1974. He started carving pipes because he couldn’t afford the quality of pipes he wanted to smoke. He has since grown to be one of the most highly regarded carvers in the world. Ranier produces about 700 pipes per year in his northern German village of Worth.
