Becker Pipes (click any image to enlarge the image) Fritz and Paolo Becker (father and son) started carving pipes in the late 1970s. Becker uses only choice extra-extra quality Calabrian Briar. This is some of the hardest and most durable briar in the world, leading to a phenomenal smoke. Since 1991 when Fritz died, all Becker pipes are carved by Paolo, and he puts out about 350 pipes per year. Before Fritz passed away, neither father nor son had a specific style of pipe carving, so it is near impossible to determine which Becker carved a specific pipe. Fritz partnered up with Giorgio Musico, and their sons (Paolo and Massimo) created Becker and Musico pipes, currently no longer in production. |
