The Briar Patch is the most unique family owned and operated tobacco shop in Sacramento. For over 12 years, the owners of the Briar Patch, Ron and Jeri Michelson, have cultivated the finest collection of premium cigars, pipes and accessories for their shops, as well as the product knowledge to gain his company national recognition.
Our Products
The Briar Patch has spent the last 12 years developing a rapport with local, national and world distributors of the highest quality products. Currently, we carry over 2,000 pipes – more pipes than in all the shops in Sacramento combined. We feature the newest and finest cigars and pipe tobacco, with our cigars held in the largest humidor in Sacramento. We also carry many accessories, including lighters, holders and men’s accessories.
Our Cigar Lounge
The Briar Patch strives to make our guests and customers as welcome and comfortable as possible. We hold a weekly poker night every Tuesday evening, and we have a cigar lounge at our Fair Oaks location for relaxing any day of the week.
Our premier Diamond Crown Cigar Lounge features comfortable leather chairs, a 60 inch HDTV with cable and a Blue Ray DVD player with surround sound, among other amenities. Membership for the lounge includes discounts on products, priority access to limited edition cigars, discounts on humidified lockers and advance notice to events at the Briar Patch.
Our Mission
The Briar Patch strives to support and connect with the community of Sacramento. We support many local and national charities and an annual charity golf tournament, with the proceeds going to benefit the Rebuilding America’s Warriors foundation (formerly Iraq Star).
We are members of the Cigar Rights of America and work hard to protect the rights of customers to pursue their favorite past times. We remain active politically, on a local, state and national level, to help control government interference or taxation.
Our Experience
Our expertise at the Briar Patch truly sets us apart. We employ professionals that are certified by the Tobacconist University in all things cigar and pipe. We are a member in good standing and a past board member with the International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers Association (IPCPR). We are the only Tobacco Association of America dealer in Sacramento, one of only 100 nationwide Dunhill dealers, a United Cigar retailer and a Davidoff White Label merchant.
The Briar Patch has received many awards and special recognition through the years, including the Alfred Dunhill Pipe Retailer of the Year (2007) award, the IPCPR Setup award and the Manny Kaufman award.
